John Callahan Garden

Northwest Lovejoy Avenue and 21st Avenue.

A park built for the wheelchair-bound, inspired by the late, great author and WW cartoonist John Callahan. Connected to the Legacy Good Samaritan Park nearby, this therapeutic garden provides space for patients in recovery and treatment—as Callahan was at Good Sam—to get outside while enjoying his cartoons on plaques placed at appropriate eye levels.

Willamette Week’s reporting has concrete impacts that change laws, force action from civic leaders, and drive compromised politicians from public office. Support WW's journalism today.
