The Dandy Warhols Tell Us How They’re Spending Their Quarantine

"Turns out moose burgers are amazing!"

Stars—they're just like us. Especially right now, insofar as they are also confined to their homes, waiting for this whole coronavirus thing to sort itself out. In this new feature, we check in with prominent Portlanders to ask: How are you holding up?

Number of kids at home: One teenage daughter, one 20-year-old niece

What have you been eating? Meal delivery from Sunbasket and frozen game from my deep freeze. Turns out moose burgers are amazing!

What have you been watching? The latest season of Grace & Frankie and clips from John Oliver on YouTube. I'm also hate-watching Trump interviews and speeches.

What have you been listening to? NPR nonstop when I'm in my car. In my home office, my Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Cigarettes After Sex and Lana Del Rey radio stations.

Have you picked up a new hobby or resumed an old one? I am really digging into spring cleaning and organizing.

What's the weirdest thing you've done so far? I imagine I'll run out of things to do at some point, but I'm not anywhere near bored yet—some people probably think organizing drawers is weird, but I love that shit when I have the time to do it.

What do you miss most about the outside world? I miss the random interactions. I miss the small talk.

How are you staying sane? I'm a project monster. Also, weed.

What's the first thing you're doing when this is all over? Yoga class, swimming, soaking, working out, roller skating, dancing.

Occupation: Dandy Warhols frontman, owner of the Old Portland wine bar

Number of kids at home: Six

What have you been eating? I tell my kids I'm gonna start eating them if they don't keep it quiet so I can work, but I won't actually have to eat them yet as I stocked way up on beluga caviar, water crackers and cases of pink champagne.

What have you been watching and/or listening to? Just reading Willy Week and listening to Mozart's Requiem over and over.

What's the weirdest thing you've done so far? Walking my dog to the park three or four times a day and talking to the neighbors. Boy, talk about weird.

What do you miss most about the outside world? Sushi.

How are you staying sane? My secret is, I don't.
