Cut of the Day: "Tedium Everlasting," And And And

Stream a stripped-down, bummed-out ballad from the band's limited edition tape...while you can.

And And And is turning 6, and to celebrate, the indefatigable basement-pop troupe is putting out an (extremely) limited edition free cassette of unreleased songs and alternate versions of previously issued material. Drummer Bim Ditson explains:

The Quit tape will only be given out in physical copies, because "we're pretty disenchanted with digital streaming these days," Ditson says. They are, however, letting us embed one song, the swaying ballad "Tender Everlasting." True to Ditson's description, it's a bare-boned track, built from only acoustic guitar, harmonium and some major morning-after bummer vibes. Get the cassette (if you're lucky) at And And And's upcoming tour kick-off tomorrow night at Dante's.

Matthew Singer

A native Southern Californian, former Arts & Culture Editor Matthew Singer ruined Portland by coming here in 2008. He is an advocate for the canonization of the Fishbone and Oingo Boingo discographies, believes pro-wrestling is a serious art form and roots for the Lakers. Fortunately, he left Portland for Tucson, Arizona, in 2021.

Willamette Week’s reporting has concrete impacts that change laws, force action from civic leaders, and drive compromised politicians from public office.
