About That "Justin Bieber Is Moving to Sandy" Rumor…

"Sorry" to say, it's not true.

You may have seen a rumor floating around on Portland social media today that probably made your heart stop for a quick second.

According to something called The McKenzie Post, semi-reformed pop bad-boy and pet-monkey abandoner Justin Bieber is planning to give up the celebrity lifestyle by leaving L.A. and heading to the country—specifically, Sandy, Ore.

Trust me, every inch of my being wanted this to be true. Alas, it is not. A quick Google search reveals no such Us Weekly interview, but you don't even need to do that minimal amount of due diligence: Simply clicking the blog's "About" link reveals that the McKenzie Post is the world's "premiere fantasy news site" and that all articles are "satire or pure fantasy." The site takes submissions, so we're guessing this is just some local Belieber's fan fiction gone viral.

The Biebz is coming through Portland in a few weeks, as his Purpose Tour hits Moda Center on March 13. Sadly, he's not sticking around, beyond possibly hitting up Sassy's and maybe a hookah bar—best to follow Byron Beck on Twitter for those updates.

If you ended up sharing that post and spreading the lie without checking the source first, shame on you. But as Bieber himself would tell you, it's not too late to say you're sorry.
