Check Out Neon-Lit Photos of the 1975 at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall

Buzzing U.K. pop act the 1975 touched down at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall last night, bringing an impressive neon light show, vintage rock-star presence and tracks from their '80s-infused, INXSian sophomore album, I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It. At this point, the band is a bit bigger back home than in the states. But if the screaming teenage girls in the audience at the Schnitz have anything to say about it, that won't be true for long. Here's what it looked like.

Willamette Week

Matthew Singer

A native Southern Californian, former Arts & Culture Editor Matthew Singer ruined Portland by coming here in 2008. He is an advocate for the canonization of the Fishbone and Oingo Boingo discographies, believes pro-wrestling is a serious art form and roots for the Lakers. Fortunately, he left Portland for Tucson, Arizona, in 2021.

Willamette Week’s reporting has concrete impacts that change laws, force action from civic leaders, and drive compromised politicians from public office.
