Liv Warfield Is Replacing Lizzo at MusicfestNW presents Project Pabst

The Prince protege returns to Waterfront Park for the second time this summer.

First, the bad news: Lizzo, the rising rapper behind the hit "Good as Hell," has canceled her appearance at MusicfestNW presents Project Pabst next weekend.

The good news: Portland's own Liv Warfield is taking her place.

Warfield, for those unaware, was a leading light of the Portland R&B scene in the mid-aughts before getting recruited into Prince's New Power Generation. The Purple One executive produced her 2014 solo album, The Unexpected, a collection of hard-hitting soul showcasing her powerful vocals and all shades of her personality. Warfield has already played Waterfront Park once this summer, performing a tribute to her fallen mentor, along with fellow members of the NPG.

In short: She's awesome. And if you don't trust me, just watch this:

Want to see her in person? Well, you're best advised to act quickly.
