You'll Be Able to Pay to Meet Bruce Springsteen at Powell's in October

A ticket gets you an autographed copy of his new autobiography, and maybe a handshake.

Bruce is coming to Powell's.

Not sci-fi author Bruce Sterling, Withnail and I writer Bruce Robinson or even Bruce Vilanch, but Bruuuuuuuuuce. As in Springsteen.

He's coming to town to "celebrate" the publication of his upcoming autobiography, Born to Run. He won't be singing nor reading, nor even signing autographs—as far as anyone at Powell's seem to know, he'll just be sort of hanging out. But still: It's the fucking Boss, man! It's essentially the literary equivalent of those legends about him dropping in to play a set at some random small-town dive.

The appearance is scheduled for noon on Tuesday, Oct. 4, in the Pearl Room, which will be closed off for anyone without a ticket. A ticket gets you a pre-signed copy of the book. Beyond that? At this point, all that's promised is you'll get to meet the man himself and, like, shake his hand or something.

Tickets are $32.50 and go on sale through Powell's Facebook page and newsletter this Wednesday at 10 am. So start your moisturizing procedures now—it's gonna be the handshake of a lifetime!
