Third Candidate, Brian Wilson, Declares He's Running for Jules Bailey's County Seat

The race for Multnomah County commissioner likely will attract additional candidates.

Brian Wilson, who in 2014 ran against Jules Bailey for a seat on the Multnomah County commission and lost, announced Sunday that he'll make a second bid for the job now that Bailey is running for Portland mayor.

Wilson, who earned 26 percent of the vote two years ago, is the third person to publicly declare his candidacy for the open seat. Eric Zimmerman, chief of staff to Multnomah County Commissioner Diane McKeel, and Dr. Sharon Meieran, who ran for the Legislature in 2012, are also running.

Wilson, 48, used to run his family's real-estate management business, Kalberer Co. He is an active volunteer for causes ranging from library funding to Portland Center Stage.
