Bar Guide 2015: Oso Market & Bar

726 SE Grand Ave., 232-6400, osomarket.com. 11 am-10 pm Tuesday-Thursday, 11 am-11 pm Friday-Saturday, 11 am-9 pm Sunday.

Former House Spirits distiller Colin Howard takes his bottle bar on a discriminating tour of the unfamiliar: wine regions often unexplored, beers from both near and especially from the far reaches of Belgian cellars, obscure liquors from aquavit to Nicaraguan rums paired with pickle backs infused with cucumber or strawberry, and deals on wine undervalued in obscurity. Pull a wine flight for $15, choose from more than 25 wines by the glass, or get an eminently tasteful and subtle cocktail like a Cocoa Chanel ($11), which tames the crackle of rye with chocolate.

Happy hour: 4-6 pm daily. $1 off wells, wine, drafts and cheap domestics. Food specials.
