Bar Guide 2015: Sweet Hereafter

3326 SE Belmont St., hereafterpdx.com. 4 pm-2 am Monday-Thursday, 2 pm-2 am Friday, noon-2 am Saturday-Sunday.

Hereafter might sound future tense, but Dig a Pony's sibling bar is a wood-panelled vegan haven nostalgic for whiskey in Mason jars and monochromatic baseball paintings. The patio's repurposed marquee arrow directs bespectacled 20-somethings to oak picnic tables for yeast-breaded tofu in the Eastern Bowl ($9) and jerk-marinated tofu in the Steve Martin sandwich ($9). You'll find a few extra gluten-free brews (from Omission, $4 and Anthem, $5) among the $2 Tecates. Cocktails run average in price ($8-$10) and gratification, but service is notoriously slow. Nab the namesake drink ($8), a boozy Arnold Palmer, and reminisce by the fire pit.

Happy hour: 4-7 pm daily. $1 off wells, some drafts, house wine, food.

Entertainment: Blazers games, patio.
