Longtime home to Grant High School kids on lunch break and Lloyd Center expats, this basement sub-shop hideaway will take you back to the days before there was a Subway on every corner, when men were men and bread was big, white and spongy. A small sub is usually enough to exterminate a decent appetite, especially when it's of the chicken teriyaki ($4.50/$5.75) variety. The Tickler is generous with its meat, so only true carnivores should order the Club ($5.25/$8.50). The rest of us are left picking out piles of thin-sliced turkey breast just to fit the thing in our mouths. (CJ)
