President of Beers: #15

Atlas IPA: Marshall Brewing Co., Tulsa, Oklahoma

We're drinking the flagship craft beer from every state in the Union, counting down from 50-1, to find which is home to the President of Beers.

#15: Atlas IPA: Marshall Brewing Co., Tulsa, Oklahoma

State: The Southernish state Oklahoma. The inaugural class of the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame included Woodie Guthrie, who was born and raised there and spent his life making music to benefit hardscrabble working folk, and Merle Haggard, who is not from the state but recorded a song criticizing hippies which uses the name of the state.

Brewery: The young and very classy Marshall Brewing, which provides suggested cheese pairings for its ales and has a special edition black IPA on shelves.

Beer: Atlas IPA, which the brewer suggests pairing with "oily fish such as grilled salmon." Any IPA to push through the crowded field and get in to our top 15 deserves your respect.

Difficulty of Obtaining in Oregon: Moderately difficult. It's available in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri.

Rating: 71.08

OK, Oklahoma, I’ll admit: I don’t really understand.
