Buy PDX: Locally Made Raw Denim Will Debut at Made Here PDX

Jaefields

Local small-batch clothier Jaefields is partnering with Made Here PDX to showcase its locally-made raw denim line (we got all excited back in April). Made Here PDX usually caters to the Pearl's hordes of tourists, stocking "Made in Oregon" wares from coffee to canoes, leather and alcohol. It's more a blinkered, Portlandia version of the Rose City than the raw fashion scene Jaefields normally aims for, but it may be just the scene for Jaefields' un-washable pants; the style retails for around $300 at Self Edge$150 at Levi's, and a reasonable $140 at American Apparel. Jaefields hasn’t yet release the price of his locally produced pants, but we'll bet they're on the pricier end of the spectrum.

Yeezy Is Almost Here

Kanye West’s much-anticipated Signature Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 Low is coming to Portland. East Burnside’s Machus is finally getting its first Boosts from Kanye. When the shoe—which looks like a cross between Marty McFly’s shoes from Back to the Future Part II and Ugg boots—was released in February, it was available in only 18 stores nationally and sold out on the first day. Machus' owner planned on being the premier Northwest retailer: “I’m the only one in town and probably the only one in the Northwest," Justin Machus said. But since then, Machus hasn't received any shoes. The true release is now slated for October, when the clothing end of Kanye's fashion line, called “Season 1,” will hit stores.

Machus will also host minimalist fashion designer Daniel Patrick on June 12 and 13 for the Sandstorm pop-up event. Patrick's Los Angeles-based line of menswear matches the Machus style, a high-fashion-meets-streetwear blend that's rare in Portland's retail scene.

Frances May Launches Aloha Summer 15 Lookbook

West End's high fashion boutique Frances May released its latest lookbook online for a womenswear collection called Aloha Summer. Yes, the sun came out this weekend, hence Aloha's crop-top sweatshirts, sleek dresses and airy dress pants. The pieces are print heavy from head to toe, but they avoid the tacky assault Hawaiian shirts are notorious for by picking light, soft hues.
