Every single day is some kinda day. It's either First Grade Teacher Day or Pet Gerbil Day or Favorite Parent Day and you are forced to celebrate by posting a picture of your first grade teacher or gerbil or favorite parent on Facebook. Today, however, is a different sort of day. Today, my friends, today is Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day.
Which president came up with this most important day? Was it Lincoln? Washington? A Roosevelt? Whoever it was was a golden hearted genius who understood what America really could be at her best: a cheese-loving carbo-paradise.
As you well know, it is an ancient American tradition that on this most illustrious of days, you can walk into any restaurant and demand a grilled cheese sandwich and that establishment is required by the Bible and the Constitution to give it to you for free.
But, on the off-chance that some heretic restaurant manager refuses your request (and always escalate to a manager), Bunk Sandwiches will be prepared. They are giving away free Tillamook Grilled Cheese Sandwiches at their Alberta location (2017 NE Alberta St.) from 11 am to 2 pm.
If you live in the venerable suburb of Vancouver, you can also procure your free grilled cheese from Franz Bakery Outlet (6701 NE Hwy 99, Vancouver, Wash.) from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
Go in peace friends. Pizza Day must be around the corner.
