Lompoc/5th Quadrant

A Portland staple since 1996, Lompoc Brewing features a range of locations from its recently resurrected hangout on Northwest 23rd Avenue to the cozy Hedge House on Southeast Division Street and the unassuming Oaks Bottom tavern. But its 5th Quadrant—named for North Portland, the odd man out in Portland's four quadrants—is where the magic happens. A funky, slightly industrial-looking bunker with a large covered patio is where the beers are born. That list includes evergreen favorites (C-Note, Lompoc Special Draft, Proletariat Red), plus an always-shifting rotating and seasonal lineup both mild (Fool's Golden) and wild (two-year Old Tavern Rat barleywine). They're paired with food plates that are both large and of impressive quality, including nachos, wings and voluminous plates of thin-cut fries. All locations are kid-friendly except the 23rd Avenue Tavern.

HAPPY HOUR: $2.50 beers all day Miser Monday (Lompoc Tavern and Oaks Bottom) and Tightwad Tuesday (5th Quadrant and Hedge House).

ENTERTAINMENT: TVs everywhere, patios everywhere. Hooray.
