The difference between hash and kief

Flower

Ganja, bud, nug…they're all the same. The flower of the cannabis plant now typically has THC between 15 to 25 percent.

Kief

The original extract—weed dust made with

a grinder, powdery and unprocessed trichomes that run between 30 and 50 percent THC.

Hash

This crumbly substance is made from straining ground-up cannabis through ice water, which condenses the kief to have THC levels of 50 to 60 percent.

RSO

Ingestible resin that is heat extracted using

overproof liquor. It ends up being about 50

percent THC and takes the form of a sticky

tree sap usually dispensed via syringe.

Tinctures

Cannabis is infused into alcohol or

glycerin and taken under the tongue

via dropper. It's 40 to 60 percent THC

and tends to have more CBD.

Wax

Flower processed with pressure and heat to produce a hard, crumbly substance—no stickiness—that looks like a yellowish crack rock. Don't try to make it at home.

Shatter

Made through a process like the one that "yields

wax, but with higher pressure to make a malleable

substance that keeps more color and flavor.
