In just a few years, the 1905 has become a hub for Portland jazz. Initially intended to be an upscale pizzeria, the small, swanky space now boasts a generation-spanning local jazz schedule. Veteran drummer Ron Steen helms a jam every Monday: On weekends, you're likely to catch up-and-coming musicians playing music that's wonderfully weird. Its crispy artisan pizzas are just as worthwhile.
