SEE: Vince Staples
Vince Staples is more than one of the most talented voices in contemporary rap; he’s also one of the funniest. Staples takes the hardened perspective of his Long Beach-via-Compton upbringing and synthesizes forward-thinking production choices, lyrical introspection and an inarguably generational writing talent to create both the music and the off-track commentary of our time. Pro tip: Pregame by watching The Vince Staples Show on Netflix, his Ziwe interview on YouTube, and his Hot Ones episode. There has never been a funnier rapper. Pioneer Courthouse Square, 701 SW 6th Ave., thesquarepdx.org. 7 pm Thursday, Aug. 20. $70. All ages.
