Boyd Littell, a drummer and vocalist in Portland hip-hop ensemble ADDverse Effects, was found dead in Col. Summers Park on Tuesday. He was 40 years old.

As first reported by the Portland Mercury, Littell's body was found in the Southeast Portland park around 7:43 am.

Authorities say the cause of death was accidental, and likely the result of falling off his bike.

Originally from Oklahoma, Littell co-founded ADDverse Effects in his hometown of Norman and relocated to Portland in 2014. The group was a runner up in Best Hip-Hop Artist and Best Band categories in this year's Willamette Week Best of Portland Readers Poll.

Littell was also involved in Portland's bike community, working as a courier. Bike Portland's Jonathan Maus, who profiled Littell and his customized bicycle in 2016, reported that a source close to Littell told him Littel "crashed while riding his bike, hit his head, walked over to the park, laid down, and never woke up."

"He seemed like a very creative and interesting guy," Maus wrote of meeting Littell. "And today, reading through all the tributes to him from friends on his Facebook page, he was even more creative and interesting than I ever knew."
