UPDATE, 6:48 pm: This livestream is broadcasting Trump's 7pm speech.
ORIGINAL POST, 5:38 pm: Crowds began gathering in mid-afternoon to see Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump at a 7 pm rally in Eugene.
Nearly two hours before Trump speaks, his rally has drawn more than 1,000 supporters, at least 100 protesters gearing up in a nearby park, and heavy law-enforcement presence that includes officers from the Portland Police Bureau.
Social-media posts show demonstrators briefly stopped car traffic heading into the Lane Events Center at the Fairgrounds this afternoon. They did not prevent the arrival of this vehicle.

WW's news partner KATU-TV sent a helicopter to monitor the protests. The Eugene Police Department has asked it to leave.
"For security purposes," the Eugene Police say in a press release, "media are being requested to not place their helicopters or drones above the Lane Events Center venue from now until 9 p.m. tonight. Thank you."
KATU's live feed is intermittant, but you can watch it here.
We'll have live video when Trump begins speaking at 7 pm.
