Armstrong World Industries today made official the closure of its manufacturing and distribution facility in St. Helen's with a notification to the state.

The move, which the Pennsylvania-based company announced last year, will cost 136 employees their jobs at a plant that made and sold ceiling tiles.

The Columbia County Spotlight reported last year that Armstrong was the county's ninth largest taxpayer, paying $402,677 in property taxes for 2017.
