Much is said about the melody of clattering dim sum carts in PDX's Chinatown, but not enough about Lum Yuen, a consistent outpost for dim sum that won't lighten your wallet. Feast on melty pork shu mai ($2), lo bak ko ($2), a too-rarely seen turnip cake with shrimp and pork, and the classic normy gai ($4) a bundle of joy with sweet rice, chicken, barbecue pork, Chinese sausage, bamboo shoots and mushrooms in a steamed lotus leaf.
