OUT & ABOUT: Local DJ Comes out of the Closet.

daria and mitchIn what is a major step for queers everywhere, but could considered a dangerous move within mainstream broadcast circles (aka career suicide) a radio DJ has come out of the closet—ON THE AIR. Mitch Elliott announced yesterday on 105.1 The Buzz, that yes, indeed, he has a real-live, live-in boyfriend/sex partner in his life.

And, no it wasn't one of the ratings driven "gay" gimmicks that his Jammin' 95.5 competitors PK and Scooter always like to pull on their so-called show. Mitchell recently left a bigtime morning gig in Seattle to join with popular local personality Daria O'Neill for the midday "Daria and Mitch Show." A top ten radio market vet for nearly 20 years, according to Mitchell, it's something he's been wanting to do for a long time.

WW should've known.

According to his bio, Elliott used to perform in bands at theme parks in Denver, Pittsburgh and Atlanta and has two dogs named Frodo and Shelby-Lynne. Now how gay is that?
