BlahBlahBlahGate: Watch What Really Happened When We Kicked a U.S. Senate Candidate Out of Our Offices

U.S. Senate candidate Mark Callahan

It has come to our attention that a video of WW kicking Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mark Callahan out of a recent endorsement interview is making the digital rounds.

We interview candidates running for a particular office as a group. This gives them a chance to interact, and for us to weigh one candidate's answers against the others. We record the interviews and post the video on our website. And we make the rules clear: Our goal is not to provide equal time to all candidates, but to explore questions that we think matter most to our readers.

Not everyone likes to follow the rules, and on rare occasion we have asked candidates to leave the endorsement interviews. That's what happened when Callahan came to our offices.

caught the public imagination.

Maybe it was the part where Callahan rebuked our reporter Nigel Jaquiss for writing "blah blah blah" in his notepad while another candidate, Joe Rae Perkins, was answering a question.

"Where are you on the Easter bunny?"

Maybe it was the way our "thin-skinned liberal" editors helpfully pointed the direction in which Callahan might find the door. (To our left, and to his right, of course.)

At any rate, whether you read about this incident on Romenesko or Slate or TheRightScoop.com, you can find the full video of the endorsement interview here.

You'll want to start the video at the 1:06:00 mark.
