Low Brow Lounge

The mighty Low Brow, inexplicably unchanged as the Pearl blew up around it, boasts interior design that's an impeccable swirl of classic West Coast kitsch and spray-painted urbanity awash in cavernous darkness. They even have their own corn chip-scented version of the old-bar smell, and know their regulars by their first names. Indeed, this is a place fiercely protective of its regulars, and you're welcome to join the party as long as you understand that the bar's mantra, "It's not for everyone," isn't a joke. The menu, however, is inclusive, now spanning a vegan menu—including a kale salad ($5/$7) that's better than it should be—alongside greasy roller-rink classics. Don't waste the bartender's time with dilly-dallying, and either bring cash or get ready to sink a couple very inexpensive drinks as Low Brow has a $10 minimum for credit and debit purchases.
