Gram Central Station

6430 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., 503-284-6714. 9 am-9 pm Monday-Saturday, 11 am-7 pm Sunday.

The exterior of Gram Central Station is bewildering, with a refurbished façade reminiscent of old Western towns, and a snug four-space parking lot bound on all sides by high fences. Inside, the waiting room is dark and sparse, with an ATM glowing in the corner. It's a welcome surprise when the floor space opens up, cozy and inviting and reminiscent of Portland's lived-in cannabis history. The flower's on point, for sure. On the shelf for my visit: a sublimely velvet Sirius Black tinted the shade of old-vine zinfandel. Gram Central Station isn't where you should bring Grandma, but those who have haunted Oregon head shops over the past few decades will feel right at home.
