Victoria Taft Leaving KPAM

Victoria Taft

Conservative firebrand Victoria Taft is leaving her afternoon slot on KPAM today after eight years, according to an announcement on her Facebook page posted yesterday.

Pamplin Media, which owns KPAM, has not yet said why Taft is leaving. Portland Business Journal first reported her departure today.

One of Portland's few prominent conservatives, Taft engaged her small but loyal following every weekday from noon to 3 pm with vocal denunciations of gun control, abortion, and, of course, President Obama.

Her confrontational style made her the darling of Oregon conservatives such as the Oregon Tea Party, which hosted her at a speaking engagement in downtown Portland in 2011.

She also earned a great deal of criticism from watchdog organizations such as Politifact, which has accused her of making several inaccurate statements.

Taft announced that her KPAM blog has moved to her website, VictoriaTaft.com, although it is "under construction."

Neither Taft nor KPAM has returned WW's requests for comment.
