Boxer Ramen Plans a 23rd Avenue Location

The old Two Tarts bakery location, which closed December 2014, may have a new tenant.

Question: Are you a Portland chain restaurant?

If the answer is yes, we will see you very soon on Northwest 23rd Avenue.

Micah Camden and Katie Poppe have applied for a liquor license to open a third Boxer Ramen location in the old Two Tarts Bakery space at Northwest 23rd Avenue and Kearney St., within eyeshot of the pair's Blue Star Donuts, as well as Little Big Burger, which they sold to the folk who own Hooter's this year.

This seems to keep the chain on a steady pace of one a year since its West End shop opened in November 2013. The second, on Alberta, opened in January 2015. This would be the third Boxer Ramen location.

We can only hope that their new place will sport a mural—as we described in this year's restaurant guide—to rival the Alberta Street's "drawings of animal-people eating bowls of animal-people, like an anime episode of Bojack Horseman."

We'll just drop… this.. here. For inspiration purposes.
