For literary romantics, a visit to Mother Foucault's is like falling in love with the written word all over again. Filled with classic titles, avant-garde poetry, and philosophy, the cozy, multilevel shop transports you to 1910s Paris, and though the shop does purchase used books, don't even think about bringing by a tattered copy of Frankenstein—unless it's in Italian.
