Bar Guide 2015: Cassidy's

1331 SW Washington St., 223-0054, cassidysrestaurant.com. 4 pm-2 am daily.

A good neighborhood bar in the West End—a neighborhood that's not, really—Cassidy's is a classic pre-Crystal, post-meeting spot. The beer's cold, the cocktails are named after Golden Girls (the $9 Blanche is made with bourbon and port, and quite tasty), and the very reasonable happy-hour food makes it a favorite with off-shift service-industry folks who take care of the tourists and West Hillsers dining in the area's swanky new restaurants. And if you're going to a classy show at the Crystal, this is your spot.

Happy hour: 4-6 pm, 10 pm-2 am daily. Much discount food ($7-$8).
