It's now possible to write a fall preview exclusively about movies with an Oregon connection. But with this sensation comes peril. Portland is the new, popular kid on the film scene, but we're still fresh enough that one embarrassing slip-up could define us for years to come. (It took us nearly a decade to recover from Mr. Holland's Opus. Never forget.) The following eight movies could rocket us into the stratosphere. Or they could ruin everything.
