You from Chicago? You miss Chicago? You come here. Chicago's Italian beef ($7.65 whole, $3.95 half) is just as strange a mutant food as Cincinnati chili: a big pile of marinated beef stuffed in bread soggy with gravy, all of it covered in jardinière (a French word meaning "some Polish guy's idea of Italian peppers"). They do exactly right at Michael's what no one else in Portland would even want to do. Hell, the owner even yells at you all the time, just like they do South Side. Go Bears!
