The Oregon Senate today passed an historic $2 billion corporate tax increase that lawmakers say will bolster Oregon's schools.

After Republican senators returned from a four-day walk-out, the senior chamber quickly voted along party lines, approving House Bill 3427 by a margin of 18 to 11, with state Sen. Jackie Winters (R-Salem) excused.

Gov. Kate Brown has said she will sign the bill.
